Accessibility Statement
RSQ HVAC, CORP. is committed to ensuring that hvacr-nyc.com is accessible to all people, including those who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice recognition software, or alternative input devices. We treat digital accessibility as part of the same standard of service we bring to commercial refrigeration: do the work right, and keep doing it.
This site targets Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA conformance — the standard adopted by the U.S. Department of Justice for ADA Title II and used as the de facto benchmark for ADA Title III private-sector litigation. Where any element falls short of this standard, we treat the gap as a defect to be fixed, not a permanent limitation.
Standards we follow
We do not use accessibility-overlay widgets. Our remediation is performed in the underlying HTML, CSS, and JavaScript of the site, which is the only approach defensible under recent FTC guidance and federal court decisions.
What we have done
Our current remediation work, completed and ongoing, includes the following:
- Semantic structure. Every page uses correct landmarks (
nav, main, aside, footer), headings in correct hierarchical order, and meaningful link text. - Keyboard navigation. All interactive elements are reachable and operable using only a keyboard. A "Skip to main content" link is provided as the first focusable element.
- Visible focus indicators. All focusable elements display a clear, high-contrast outline when reached by keyboard or assistive technology.
- Color contrast. All text meets or exceeds WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and non-text UI elements).
- Alternative text. Images convey meaning through descriptive
altattributes; decorative images are properly hidden from assistive technology. - Form labels. All form controls have associated, programmatically-determined labels.
- Reduced motion. The site respects the user's
prefers-reduced-motionsystem preference and disables non-essential animations accordingly. - Document accessibility. Our published PDFs (including the Commercial Terms & Conditions) are tagged for screen-reader navigation, provide logical reading order, and pass automated accessibility checks.
- Automated and manual testing. We run automated accessibility scans (axe-core, WCAG 2.2 ruleset) on every page in production and conduct periodic manual review with keyboard-only navigation and screen-reader tools.
Ongoing work and known limitations
Accessibility is not a checklist completed once — it is an ongoing program. We acknowledge the following:
- Automated tools detect roughly 30 to 40 percent of accessibility issues. The remainder require manual review and assistive-technology testing, which we perform on a recurring basis.
- Third-party content (such as embedded maps, fonts loaded from external CDNs, or future contact-form widgets) may occasionally introduce accessibility gaps outside our direct control. We monitor these and replace non-conforming third-party components as conforming alternatives become available.
- If you encounter content on this site that is not accessible to you, we want to know. See the contact information below.
Compatible technology
This site is designed to work with the following assistive-technology and browser combinations:
- Screen readers — JAWS (latest two versions) and NVDA on Windows; VoiceOver on macOS and iOS; TalkBack on Android.
- Browsers — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge (current and one prior major release).
- Operating systems — Windows 10/11, macOS 12+, iOS 15+, Android 12+.
- Magnification and zoom — Up to 200% browser zoom without loss of content or functionality (WCAG 1.4.4) and up to 400% with reflow (WCAG 1.4.10).

Procurement and vendor commitment
RSQ HVAC, CORP. requires that any third-party software, content management system, or web service procured for use on hvacr-nyc.com meet the same WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance standard. Vendor accessibility conformance reports (VPATs) are reviewed before any new platform component is introduced.
